Are there seasonal dog beds?
The purpose of a dog bed is for your dog to be
comfortable. If a dog could sleep on the floor with perfect comfort, the dog
bed would be unnecessary and superfluous, and few owners would opt for an
unnecessary bed. But dogs enjoy comfort, and so to add to that comfort for
their beloved pets, many dog owners choose to opt for a good pet bed for
their dog so that it is able to sleep comfortably.
But as anyone knows, comfort is not limited to the
softness of a mattress or feel of the material. Comfort also has to do with
how you feel when you lay down, and one of the things that affects how you
feel is the heat of the air around you.
During winter, the air around you is cold, and so
you (and your dog) are also cold. During summer it is hot, and so you (and
your dog) are also hot. These things can detract from the comfort that is
had by lying down on a comfortable bed.
Dog Beds for the Seasons
It is with that in mind that some dog bed companies
decided to create seasonal dog beds. These are made with safe and effective
internal heat changers that are designed to improve the comfort of your dog
as it sleeps.
These are separate beds – there are not yet any dog
beds that perform both actions (heating and cooling). But these beds are
designed to give your dog greater comfort when it is ready to lay down.
·
Cooling Beds – Cooling beds have a
cooling system that makes the bed itself colder without detracting from your
dog’s comfort. These beds allow your pet to come in after a hot day and lay
down to cool off. Since dogs do not have sweat glands, these beds can be
very useful for keeping your pet cold.
·
Heating Beds – Like cooling beds,
heating beds have a heating system that warms your dog up. These beds are
great on cold days, but may even be enjoyable on simply “not hot” days, as
they warm and sooth your dog’s skin as it sleeps, or simply when it needs to
warm up after the cold.
Both of these beds are great for any pets that are
going through rough weather outdoors or indoors. They are designed to be
safe, and also designed to still be comfortable despite the equipment placed
inside.
Dog Beds of the Future
It would not be surprising if someday in the not
too distant future they created dog beds that automatically adjust their
temperature based on the heat of the air around the beds. But for now, these
two distinct types of dog beds are both very effective for warming and/or
cooling your dog no matter what the season. If you have the extra cash to
spend, or you recognize your dog’s need for these types of seasonal pet
beds, you may want to consider purchasing either or both of these two beds
for your dog’s heating and cooling needs.
