Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed Review

Pet beds are a great purchase. They can be cleverly designed with a variety of amazing colors, structure, and support for your dog, all of which both give your dog a tremendous amount of comfort and help improve the décor of your home.

But these same products are not right for all dogs. It is not that some dogs are more refined than others. It is that some dogs need to chew, and dogs that chew have a tendency to destroy many of the more elaborate dog beds that are available. For dog owners, the choices are to get a fancy, expensive pet bed that may be destroyed within the month, or to get a strong, durable pet bed that will last.

Still, even the durable pet beds can be a bit pricy. That is why many people choose to purchase the Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed instead.

Pros

The Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed is more durable than most standard beds bed. It is designed to be taken anywhere, as it can fold into itself very easily and be placed both inside and outside. The material of both stand itself and the fabric is strong, and it is great for the environment. It can also withstand chewing fairly well, as there is no stuffing like there is with other beds. The elevation also makes it comfortable for most dogs. Also, the Coolaroo Elevated Pet Beds are less than half the cost of some of the other durable indoor/outdoor beds.

Cons

There is a reason that it is priced lower than some of the  other beds – it is not as durable. While the bed holds up very well against weather, it holds up much worse against chewing. The Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed is not a good choice for aggressive chewers unless you are on a tight budget. Also, as with most of these durable beds, the design is bland and not very exciting. In addition, there have been reports of animals that found it somewhat uncomfortable, especially cats.

Overall Impressions

The Coolaroo Elevated Pet Bed is probably best as a travel bed. As a main bed, it does withstand weather very well, but it doesn’t withstand chewing enough to promote using it as an indoor bed, and if your dog doesn’t chew, there are other beds you can get for the same price. It is a great item for those that need a travel/outdoor bed for their non-chewing dogs, and it is very easy to clean and store and much less expensive than its competitors. Just be warned that if you are purchasing it because your dog is an aggressive chewer, there are other options you should use instead.
